IDA Update: Commercial law.Commercial leases, goodwill and the impact of COVID-19

This year's Commercial Law 2020 update will take a completely different form.

Indeed, the confines of our premises prevent us from offering it face-to-face. However, our public service mission implies a continuity of our obligations. We therefore feel it is important to maintain the current date of April 10, with a two-hour videoconference (2 to 4 pm); a document will be sent out in advance.

On this occasion, in addition to the impact of COVID-19 on commercial leases and goodwill (the health crisis is undoubtedly having an impact on this area: cf. the ordinance authorizing, under certain conditions, the suspension of professional and commercial rents), we will discuss current legislation (for example, decree n°2020-106 of February 10, 2020 relating to legal advertising rules) and case law (mainly concerning commercial leases).
